Love Island fans were left slightly confused on Wednesday night, as a one-year age gap got discussed in the villa.
The ITV2 show is no stranger to discussion about the age difference between couples - recently attracting complaints due to Gemma Owen, 19, locking lips with the much older Davide Sanclimenti, 27.
However, it was just a one-year age gap that baffled fans during the most villa catch-up - with Indiyah Polack, 23, unsure about pursuing a younger man, 23-year-old new boy Remi Lambert.
"Flicked @LoveIsland on and I’m sure I heard a 23 year old girl and 22 year old lad having a conversation about the age gap and might it be a problem. How mental are these…….things #loveisland," one viewer mused on Twitter as the show aired.
"The age gap 22-24 is nothing but shows how 22 year old ‘men’ must act these days #LoveIsland," another fan wrote online, with a third adding: "Why are they all freaking out about a 1-2 year age gap?! #LoveIsland."
Indiyah is currently coupled up with fellow original Ikenna Ekwonna, but has shown an interest in newbie Remi.
Speaking to Manchester hunk after his arrival in the villa, Indiyah said: "It’s going alright, it’s going calm, like obviously we’re both taking it slow not rushing into anything, we are both on the same page and we both know that it’s early days and we’re not completely closing ourselves off, so it’s not a done deal, time will tell."
Remi then replied: "That’s good to know that, as soon as I came in here I had my eyes on you, you know. I can’t lie. So, what’s your type?
Indiyah then wryly replied: "You’re obviously a good looking boy."
At one point during Wednesday night's show, Remi asked the hotel waitress if his age was an issue - much to the amusement of Love Island viewers.
"It’s one year age gap fam. Hardly Gemma and Davide age gap #loveIsland," one noted on Twitter.
Gemma and Davide's kiss divided viewers early this month, with Ofcom receiving 167 complaints for its episode of June 7 over the ages of the contestants on the show - the very episode teenager Gemma and 27-year-old Davide puckered up.
Michael Owen's daughter and the Italian stallion have previously discussed the fact there is eight-years between them.
"How are you feeling about the fact I'm much older than you?" Davide asked Gemma earlier this month, "I mean you are not bothered by that?"
Gemma added: "It's not an issue for me at all. I feel like if it was, I wouldn't have wanted to get to know you in the first place. And as I've said, I've been speaking to guys and seeing guys who are much older than me.
"It's not something that I'm not used to or you're the only one or anything like that. It's very normal for me, so for me it's not an issue but I feel like for you, is it an issue?" to which Davide disagreed, saying he was fine with it.
