Love Island 2022 viewers were a little divided, with many puzzled, during the launch of the latest series on Monday night.
As Michael Owen's daughter Gemma Owen entered the villa ahead of the first coupling up of the series, viewers were stunned when she revealed her age.
Gemma confirmed she was 19 years old, and her fellow female Islanders weren't expecting the stunner to be so young.
She is the youngest contestant on the series this year, and one of the youngest Islanders across all the series.
But this left some viewers confused, with many arguing Gemma was very young to be on a show looking for 'the one'.
Gemma confirmed she had been single for a year and a half since her last relationship ended, with her now wanting to find romance in the villa.
But given her age, some viewers believed the show should make a change and have an age limit, as they weren't sure anyone below "21+" should be on it.
Many contestants go on the show after struggling to find the one, while there's the obvious bonus of the fame and fortune.
Taking to Twitter, some viewers weren't sure why anyone as young as Gemma would be desperate to find love.
One viewer said: "Why is a 19 year old on the show? This is so sad."
Another fan tweeted: "My thing is why are u trying to find love at 19???"
A third added: "Ngl the minimum age for Love island should be 21+ 19 is wayyyy to young."
This was echoed by another viewer who said: "I feel like 19 is a bit young to be on the show ngl."
There have been plenty of other contestants below the age of 21 years old on the show, but this hasn't stopped viewers being unimpressed this time around.
Gemma was paired up with Liam Llewellyn, aged 22, with viewers tuning in not sure she was keen on the decision made by the public.
Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
