Love Island axes two stars in unexpected dumping after filming went on 'until the early hours'

Two Love Island contestants have reportedly been dumped from the South African villa as part of an unexpected double dumping. Those who tuned into the episode that aired on Thursday, February 2 would have been expecting to see a dumping on Friday night, but the decision to give two the boot reportedly saw filming go on until the early hours.

Last night viewers were given the chance to vote for their favourite boy, and were told that those who received the lowest votes would be at risk of being dumped from the Island. Late arrivals Casey and Jordan were exempt after they entered as bombshells earlier this week.

"At first it was believed only one islander would be leaving but two went," a source told The Sun. "The public vote is always hard as the islanders have no idea how they are being perceived in the outside world.

"It ended up being a long night and filming went on until the early hours." According to the insider, the dumping came as a "shock" to the cast.

The scenes are set to play out during the episode on Friday, February 3. Wales Online has contacted an ITV spokesperson for comment. Claims of a double dumping come just days after Zara Lackenby-Brown left the villa. The model was left single during a recoupling that saw semi-professional football player Tom Clare choose Ellie Spencer.

During the recoupling, Tom was the last boy to choose. He was coupled up with Zara but the pair decided to cool things off and he later enjoyed secret kisses with Ellie. Tom ultimately picked Ellie, sending Zara home. You can see the full list of dumped Islanders here.

He said: "I feel like she's had a rough time in the villa so far, it's not an easy decision for me, I never want to see anyone go home, I do believe this girl is genuine and she does want to meet someone in the villa, she deserves a good shot whether that's with me or someone else."

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
