Love Island season is fast approaching. The 2022 start date has been set, the location confirmed and this year's contestants have now been announced by ITV 2.
Among those in this year's line-up are Swansea paramedic Paige Thorne, 24, student Liam Llewellyn, 22, from Newport, and international dressage rider Gemma Owen, who is the daughter of football legend Michael Owen. You can see the full list of contestants taking part in Love Island 2022 here. As well as a brand new batch of islanders, Love Island 2022 is also being filmed in a brand new location. ITV bosses confirmed earlier this year that a new villa would be used for the new series.

But where is the new villa located and what time does Love Island start? Here's everything you need to know.
When does Love Island 2022 start?
Love Island will return with series 8 on Monday, June 6. The launch episode will kick off at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub when the 2022 line-up will be seen heading into this year's brand new villa alongside host, Laura Whitmore. Love Island tweeted the start date, telling fans of the show: "Here's your first hot date of the summer #LoveIsland is back Monday 6th June on @itv2 and @itvhub!"
Where is Love Island 2022 filmed?
While the show will still be located in Mallorca, the contestants will get a brand new luxury villa for the summer. Back in February, ITV confirmed as much in a statement, telling fans: "The ultimate Summer of love is on the horizon as Love Island makes its long-awaited return, direct from a brand new villa in Mallorca."
Managing director of ITV's media and entertainment, Kevin Lygo, told PA Media earlier this year: "We didn't own [the last property]. We rented it and we are choosing a new house for this summer so that is all secrecy. It is going to be marvellous." According to The Mirror, the new villa is already being worked and looks a lot more rustic in appearance. The publication reports that the new venue will feature six bedrooms and the biggest gym Love Island has ever seen. You can read more on the villa here.

Who won Love Island 2021?
Last year's Love Island was won by fashion buyer Millie Court, from Essex, and Welsh bricklayer Liam Reardon. The pair were crowned winners last August and split the £50,000 cash prize between them after beating runners up Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran in the final.
