Louis Rees-Zammit misses Wales captain's run as Pivac hopes plans won't be blown apart again

Wales are hopeful Wayne Pivac's full-back plans won't be dashed once again as Louis Rees-Zammit missed Wales' final training session ahead of the clash with Argentina.

The Gloucester winger, who has been named in the unfamiliar position of full-back, wasn't present for Wales' captain's run at the Principality Stadium on Friday, with Sam Costelow once again doing drills with the matchday 23 after stepping up to the bench last weekend.

However, the line from Wales camp is that Rees-Zammit was undergoing his own personal training programme at the team's base at the Vale Resort.

This is the second week in a row that Wales have trained at the Principality Stadium without their first-choice full-back. Last weekend saw Leigh Halfpenny limp down the tunnel moments before training began, with the full-back pulling out of the clash with the All Blacks the following day.

Rees-Zammit's absence does raise the possibility of another late change, despite Wales' hopefulness that won't be the case.

Were it to happen again, a similar scenario would likely play out - with Rhys Priestland moving into the starting line-up and Costelow stepping up to the bench, likely shifting Gareth Anscombe from fly-half to full-back again for the second week in a row.
