Loose Women's Coleen Nolan fires order at co-star as she's left 'sickened' by chat on ITV show

Coleen Nolan ordered Ruth Langsford not to 'stop her' as she launched into a rant on Monday's Loose Women, having been 'sickened' by reports that £8million is being spent on portraits of King Charles to go in public buildings across the country.

It's been revealed that council officials will be able to apply for a free, framed portrait of the new monarch as part of a scheme to “celebrate his new reign," with the offer will also be open to courts, schools, police forces and fire and rescue services following the coronation on May 6.

Given the eyewatering cost of the free portrait scheme, it understandably became a big talking point on new and current affairs programmes on Monday and Coleen did not hold back when giving her opinions on Loose Women.

It was introduced as a topic of discussion on the ITV panel show as the strap line 'A royal waste of money?' appeared on screen and quick to share her anger over what she'd read, Coleen commented: "We've just been talking there about serious issues and lack of funds..our nurses and doctors who are desperately striking which they don't want to do; but hey, let's spend eight million on a portrait of Charles!"

As the studio audience applauded her point of view, Coleen continued: "It just doesn't make sense and here's the thing..." before putting her hand up to host Ruth Langsford and telling her: "Don't stop me now! I'm on one," as Ruth jokingly put her hands up in surrender.

Not backing down, Coleen added: "Here's the thing - why can't they just get a picture off Instagram, like the rest of us do, print it out and stick it in a nice cheap frame? It's a picture!"

Playing devil's advocate, Ruth replied: "This is a historical moment," prompting Coleen to respond: "It is historic and I'm so looking forward to it; I'm not anti-Royal, but that much money on a picture makes me want to vomit."
