Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique on Sunday praised the performance of his players during their 3-0 victory at Angers which sent them six points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with four games remaining.

"We got the job done well," said Enrique. "If you start the match against a side like Angers without composure and calm, you’ll run into problems. These are the kinds of matches than can be tricky, but we showed that we were ready."

South Korea international Lee Kang-in and Senny Mayulu struck first-half goals at the Stade Raymond Kopa in Angers. Lucas Beraldo bagged the third shortly after the pause.

Coupled with the 3-3 draw of second-placed Lens at Brest on Friday night, the result allowed PSG to open up the six-point lead over their title rivals who they play on 13 May.

"We’ve shown, both as a team and individually, our ability to put in good performances," added Enrique. "We took the opportunity to extend our lead over Lens and that is important."

Enrique was also able to rest key players such as Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia ahead of the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night at the Parc des Princes.

"When you get a result like this, it's the best way to prepare for the Champions League semi-final.," added Enrique who steered PSG to six trophies in 2025 including PSG's first Champions League crown.

Elsewhere in the French top flight on Saturday, Lyon maintained their challenge for one of the four places in Ligue 1 that provide a spot in the league phase of the 2026/27 Champions League.

Paulo Fonseca's men Lyon beat relegation-threatened Auxerre 3-2 to go third with 57 points after 31 games.

Fourth-placed Lille will leapfrog them with victory at Paris FC on Sunday afternoon.

Troyes grit: PSG pump up for visit of Madrid after routine victory

In the second division, Troyes secured their return to Ligue 1 after a 3-0 win at title rivals Saint-Etienne.

The victory gave Troyes 64 points after 32 games and ensured a finish in the two automatic promotion places.

Saint-Etienne, who started the day in second place, dropped to third after Le Mans drew 1-1 at Grenoble.

Merwan Ifnaoui opened the scoring for Troyes at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in the 53rd minute. Tawfik Bentayeb bagged his 18th goal of the season to double the advantage in the 89th minute. Mathys Detourbet added the gloss in stoppage-time.

"It's an incredible joy," Troyes coach Stéphane Dumont told reporters after the victory. "And to be able to do it against this opponent, in their stadium, it reinforces the value of the team and what it represents.

"We finished the match with four academy players who aren’t even 20 years old. I think that reflects all the work of the team and the coaching staff."

Troyes, who were relegated from Ligue 1 at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, need a point from their remaining two games to wrap up the Ligue 2 title.
