Liverpool sign Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen as summer transfer business concludes

Liverpool have signed Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen in a deal worth around £6.5million.

The 18-year-old right-back is the Reds’ third summer signing after Fabio Carvalho and Darwin Nunez and is expected to conclude their incoming transfer business for the window. He has signed a five-year deal and will wear the no22 shirt.

Liverpool have high hopes for Ramsay, who was named Scottish Football Writers’ Association’s Young Player of the Year in the season before last, and expect him to immediately rival Trent Alexander-Arnold in the first team.

“I’m just buzzing and it’s a dream come true really to be here,” Ramsay told Liverpoolfc.com in his first interview after sealing the switch.

“It was a dream come true to play for Aberdeen, and now to be at one of the biggest, if not the biggest club in the world, it’s a massive achievement and I’m looking forward to trying to show the fans what I’ve got.

“Hopefully I can come in in pre-season, show everyone at the club, the staff, players what I’ve got and then we’ll see what happens from there.”
