Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone continue to have the spotlight on them - and it could yet turn out to be a huge few weeks for Liverpool's two proposed summer targets.
After kicking-off their recruitment drive by signing Alexis Mac Allister on a free transfer, the Reds want at least one other midfielder to boost their squad before the 2023/2024 season. Thuram and Kone are being monitored as Jurgen Klopp and his recruitment team pursue a younger profile for their next addition.
For those unfamiliar with the two France starlets, or Ryan Gravenberch and Gabri Veiga for that matter, there is an opportunity to watch them go about their business this summer at the ongoing U21 European Championships which are being held in Romania and Georgia. The tournament runs until mid-July.
Thuram and Kone were in action for Les Bleus on Thursday night as they edged to a controversial 2-1 win over Italy, during which VAR - and for once a lack of such technology - took centre stage in the closing minutes.

As long as they had no affiliation to the Italian team, the important matter for Liverpool supporters as they glanced over the action via the UEFA website, though, was how Thuram and Kone performed. In short, Kone was fantastic as Thuram showed one or two neat glimpses of his undoubted talent.
Naturally, it prompted debate over their respective futures, and one look at social media was enough to show how highly they are both regarded on the red side of this famous footballing city. However, with a golden opportunity to put themselves in the shop window, there will be no shortage of other takers.
Should the Reds go on to sign one or both, though, there are some enticing squad numbers available to grab upon their proposed arrivals at Anfield, even after Mac Allister picked up the vacant No.10 which had been left unassigned by the club after Sadio Mane joined Bayern Munich.
Departing quartet James Milner (7), Naby Keita (8), Roberto Firmino (9) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have left four options on the hanger, although there might be some in-house requests for those jerseys. Other numbers which are currently available include; 12, 16, 24, 25, 30 and 31 along with further options in the 30s and 40s.
