Liverpool sent surprising Luka Modric transfer message after Real Madrid defeat

Liverpool Luka Modric Real Madrid UEFA Champions League the Champions League Harry Redknapp Jamie Carragher Jurgen Klopp Tottenham

Harry Redknapp has urged Liverpool to consider making a summer swoop for Real Madrid star Luka Modric.

The midfielder has won five Champions League trophies and three Spanish league titles since joining Real from Tottenham 11 years ago. However, the 37-year-old, who is out of contract this summer, has not yet held talks over extending his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Karim Benzema scored in the 78th minute with Vinicius Junior providing the assist as holders Real overcame last year's beaten finalists Liverpool 6-2 on aggregate to qualify for the quarter-fianls of the Champions League on Wednesday night.
