As International Women's Day approaches, more of us will be looking to support female-run businesses in Liverpool.
Lady Muck is just the place, with a series of locations across Liverpool for all your makeup, hairdressing, and aesthetics needs. Run by owner Hannah Jones, the salons provide a "safety net" for beauticians, manicurists, and hairdressers to get their start in the industry.
Hannah, 33, started with just one location in 2012 when she opened the Crosby branch of Lady Muck, and one quickly turned into four, and there are now branches of Lady Muck in Crosby, Bootle, Aintree, and West Derby.

Hannah told the ECHO: "I basically rent all the stations in our branches out to all the girls in the salon. So I provide a working space for them." The salons offer everything from haircuts and mani-pedis to laser hair removal and other aesthetic treatments, but different branches will have different people working there with different specialities.
Hannah said: "I just encourage all the girls to help them build up a client base and just get them up and running in the industry. With the beauty industry, most people are self-employed, but that's really scary when you're first starting out.
"I'm just providing a bit of a safety net for them. I do get a lot of girls who are starting off and they're scared to go self-employed, and this is a bit of a safe space.
"I like to think I'm quite relatable for the girls in the shop. They can always come to me with any problems they're having or for advice on anything I'm here for them."
Hannah offered some advice for women who are hoping to start running their own business. She said: "Just keep your eyes on the prize, and just don't doubt yourself."
