Liverpool legend tips Raphinha to stay at Leeds United despite being 'good fit' at Anfield

Leeds United winger Raphinha has been linked with a move away for some time now and as Leeds’s Premier League status is still up in the air, the rumours are louder than ever. Raphinha, 25, has been a key player in Marcelo Bielsa’s side throughout the majority of the season , now with Jesse Marsh replacing Bielsa, he continues to be one of the first names on his team sheet.

With nine goals and three assists to his name, the Brazilian is attracting interest from big names in European football, with Liverpool on side linked with him. Reds legend John Barnes has had his say on continued reports linking Raphinha with Jurgen Klopp’s side, labelling him a ‘good fit’ for Liverpool - but he doesn’t expect the Brazilian to make the move.

Barnes told BonusCodeBets: “Roberto Firmino will not be leaving Liverpool this summer. Liverpool would love to keep him. If a player becomes available, they’d like to sign them, but Leeds United’s Raphinha has also been linked with Barcelona - it’s all speculation.

“You can pick any player out of the air and ask if they’d be good for Liverpool, as I always say with the likes of Yves Bissouma, but he probably won’t come to the club, the same with Kalvin Phillips. Raphinha would be a good fit for Liverpool, but I don’t expect him to move to the club.”

Raphinha missed the epic 3-2 comeback win against Wolves last week after testing positive for Covid-19.
