Lindsay Lohan has announced that she and husband Bader Shammas are set to become parents as she is pregnant with her first child.
The Mean Girls actress, 36, confirmed the happy news on social media on Tuesday.
Taking to her Instagram account, the former child star uploaded a picture of a white baby’s vest with the words “Coming soon...” printed across it.
“We are blessed and excited!” she captioned the snap, followed by a praying hands, white heart, baby and baby’s bottle emojis.
Lohan married financier Shammas last July after announcing their engagement in November 2021.
Her celebrity friends rushed to offer their congratulations on the couple’s baby news in the comments section, including her former Mean Girls co-stars Amanda Seyfried, Elizabeth Gillies and Lacey Chabert.
“This is WONDERFUL NEWS!!” declared Seyfriend.
Gillies wrote: “Congratulations,” accentuated with four exclamation marks.
While Chabert penned: “I’m thrilled for you!!!! So exciting,” followed by several red love heart emojis.
Also sending their well wishes was designer Donatella Versace, who replied with four shooting star emojis.
While wonderful news for the actress personally, it could throw a spanner into the works for the reported Freaky Friday sequel she and Jamie Lee Curtis are said to be in talks with Disney about.
Just last month, Curtis, 64, unofficially confirmed that a follow up to the 2003 movie was happening.
Speaking to Variety at the Producers Guild Awards, the Halloween Kills star said: “It’s going to happen. Without saying there’s anything officially happening, I’m looking at you in this moment and saying, ‘Of course it’s going to happen.’ It’s going to happen.”
It follows her remarks to the same publication where she said: “There is no scheduled date, but we’re talking. The right people are talking.”
