Lindsay Clancy's murder trial ending in a mistrial has ignited fierce debate online, with some people comparing the Massachusetts mother's case with that of convicted child killer John Battaglia and accusing the US justice system of applying different standards to men and women accused of killing their children.
The comparison has spread across social media following the 4 September mistrial, when a Plymouth Superior Court jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict after more than 38 hours of deliberations. Clancy remains charged in the deaths of her three children, Cora, Dawson and Callan.
