A defence-sector company in Ankara has developed a ballistic-protected school bag designed to shield children during a shooting, and the product has divided opinion across Turkey.

The bag, first reported by Turkish media on 2 October 2026, is meant to be held up as a barrier between a pupil and an attacker and has undergone firing tests, according to reports.
