Liel Abada 'not happy' with Celtic role as Rangers hero Alan Hutton explains 'problem' at Hoops

Alan Hutton has suggest Liel Abada is unhappy at Celtic due to his lack of starts.

The Israel international has been used regularly by Ange Postecoglou this campaign with 41 appearances in all competitions to date including the Champions League with two outings against European powerhouse Real Madrid. But despite regular action it has not all been from a starting position with many minutes coming from the bench.

Former Rangers star Hutton is a fan of the 21-year-old but believes the problem at the Scottish champions at this moment in time is the number of options that they have in wide positions. Talk has been circulating over his future beyond the summer with Southampton reported to be preparing a £10million transfer offer.

That comes off the back of Maccabi Petah Tikva - his former club - chief Avi Luzon claiming that he had rejected the offer of an extension and wants to be SOLD this summer with a move to the English Premier League more than 90 per cent likely to happen.

Speaking to Football Insider, Hutton claimed: “He is obviously not happy that he is not starting week in, week out.

“He is obviously a really good player. The problem with Celtic at this moment in time is that they have got a lot of options and he has not quite been in the starting lineup as much as he would like.

“There has been a lot of talk about him. I do not think Ange would want to let him go, he has still played minutes.

“It does not help when you go away on international duty and come back injured when you are just desperate to play football.

“He is a young guy, he has got a lot to give and Ange obviously trusts him. It is just about forcing his way into the team but it is always going to be difficult at a big club.“
