With Alberta on the cusp of a first NFL season with legalized sports betting, Canadian betting sites are braced for an influx of bets ahead of the opening game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks.

Alberta became the second Canadian province to legalize sports betting after the launch of a fully regulated private-sector iGaming market on July 13, 2026.
