'Liam didn't cheat' Love Island's Millie Court has Welsh ex's back after split

It was a sad day for Love Island fans as 2021 winners Liam Reardon and Millie Court announced they had split up earlier this month after a year together. Now Essex's Millie has spoken out in a new interview sticking up for her ex-partner after speculation that the Merthyr Tydfil brickie had cheated on her and hoping the pair can remain friends.

Millie, 25, spoke to The Sun's Fabulous Magazine about the fans' speculation honestly, she said: "It’s not true. Because of Casa Amor, people go: ‘Liam’s obviously cheated again,’ and it’s not the case. Nothing happened for us to [break up]. No one cheated.

“It just was a decision that we made because it wasn’t right for us. I want to stick up for Liam and have his back. He’s not a bad guy.”

Liam and Millie announced the news on their separate Instagram accounts with Liam writing: "Hi everyone, to avoid any speculation Millie and I wanted to share with you that we have sadly separated. Honestly so gutted. But thank you to every single one of you for supporting our relationship.

"Nothing will ever take away from the amazing experience shared in Love Island and the past year we've been so lucky to both come into each other's lives. We both will continue to be friends and I will remain as Millie's biggest supporter in all that she does and I know she will always do amazing."

While Mille posted: "Hi everyone, to avoid any speculation Liam and I wanted to share with you that we have separated. It's been a tough decision and I am gutted but it's ultimately what is best for us right now. Thank you to every single one of you for supporting our relationship."

Liam has since left Essex and moved back to Wales but Millie added that she and her ex "get on really, really well and have a laugh together.”

But this also doesn't mean that Millie, who's landed a seven-figure contract with ASOS and Puma since leave the villa, isn't 100% since the split. She went on to say: "I’m obviously not totally OK. I’m the best Millie that I can be and going through something that’s not very nice,” she says.

“Anyone who goes through a break-up feels the same. We all know what heartbreak feels like.

“Liam is the one person I saw every day who understood the life-changing experiences we were both going through. We can’t just cut things off, and we’ll still support each other in all that we do.”
