ABERDEEN midfielder Lewis Ferguson is nearing the exit door at Pittodrie with four European clubs from two nations monitoring the 22-year-old closely, according to reports.
The Scotland internationalist joined the Dons from Hamilton in 2018 and is believed to be keen on a move elsewhere this summer.
English Championship outfit Milwall were understood to be the frontrunners to sign the box-to-box midfielder and negotiations with Ferguson over a £1.5m switch to the Den were at an advanced stage.
However, talks have reportedly broken down as the midfielder is keen to explore his options and would prefer a move abroad.
According to the Daily Mail, Milwall have withdrawn their interest as they wanted to get a deal done quickly but the central midfielder wants to weigh up his options from further afield.
Italian side Cagliari have previously been credited with an interest with the Accies academy graduate but their interest cooled following the club's relegation to Serie B.
The Mail add that Ferguson are holding out for £2m for Ferguson after selling right-back Calvin Ramsay to Liverpool in a club-record deal worth up to £6.5m earlier this month.
