Let’s Make-Up: the new beauty launches to have on your radar in November 2024

In our monthly Let’s Make-Up round-up, we bring you a selection of the tried and tested, freshest, and buzziest beauty launches that are worth adding to your basket.

All types of lotions and potions across makeup, skincare, haircare and more cross our desks and we take it upon ourselves to review them all so you don’t have to. If we include it below, then you know it’s a good ‘un.

They say the eyes are the window to the souls but they’re typically the most overlooked part of our skincare routines. Well, no more. Innovations from Trinny London, Augustinus Bader and NuFace this month will revitalise tired peepers, rejuvenating and restoring the delicate area.

Elsewhere, there has been a boom in the alternative haircare space. The hard water fighting heroes at Hello Klean have unveiled a rain shower version of its cult purifying filter shower head, while Champo has brought its Pitta technology from our scalp care to transform our lashes.

For all this and more, see our edit of the hottest beauty drops you need on your radar.

Chāmpo Pitta Lash Serum

A pioneer in the hair growth space, Chāmpo is building on its stellar reputation of creating scalp stimulating serums (the Pitta Growth Serum) to tackle lash density and length. Three years in the marking, the brand has called on the Pitta Growth Technology used elsewhere in the collection and adapted it to be safe for the eye area.

The Pitta Lash Serum stands out from the sea of lash-building formulas with its renunciation of prostaglandins - an ingredient that is prolific in this product type. This component has been associated with negative side effects like the darkening of eyelids, pigmentation of irises and the removal of the fat around the orbital area.

Instead, it calls on naturally derived ingredients - a biomimetic peptide complex and Ayurvedic plant stem cells – to fortify our natural lashes, build volume and leave our lashes lengthened. Use twice daily over eight weeks to maximise the benefits but you should start to notice greater density and thickness in just 14 days.

ARTAH Essential Magnesium

Have you noticed? Everyone is talking about magnesium. The buzz ingredient is lauded for its ability to encourage a sound slumber and is a common micronutrient deficiency as the body cannot produce it on its own. It forms the basis of the latest launch from ARTAH.

The nutrition and supplement brand has unveiled Essential Magnesium which contains a high 300mg dose of two bioavailable forms of the named component (Magnesium Bisglycinate and Magnesium Malate). The blend of the two is said to boost energy, manage stress, promote relaxation, support the metabolism, enhance cognitive function and improve muscular health to name just a few of the over 300 enzymatic reactions in the body in which magnesium plays a factor.

Rhian Stephenson, Nutritionist, Naturopath and Founder of ARTAH highlights the symptoms you may be experiencing if you are insufficient in your magnesium consumption, she details “muscle spasms and tightness, headaches, fatigue, a worsening of menstrual cramps, lack of concentration, insomnia or difficulty sleeping, low mood, feelings of anxiety, and irritability, to name a few."

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Soothing Body Lotion

The Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser transformed my skin. Constantly irritated and dotted with blemishes, it was only when I swapped my old cleanser for the soothing, calming but effective cleanse of the legendary formula that my complexion came under control. So you can imagine my excitement to learn that the brand’s founder has applied the same skin-loving properties to my limb care.

Goat Milk Body is a lightweight lotion that is instantly hydrating and nourishing for the neck down. It will leave skin sumptuously soft and velvety soft, locking in moisture. You can shop it as part of a limited-edition set with the cult cleanser that is ripe for Christmas gifting.

Hello Klean Rain Shower Head

London living is hard – and we’re not just talking about exorbitant rent and tedious commuting. We’re talking had water full of minerals that wreak havoc on the scalp and skin, leaving it dull, dry and irritated. Enter Hello Klean, a brand devoted to combatting the capital’s hard water concerns.

Its Purifying shower head is already a cult buy and now the brand has added another to its collection, a Rain Shower Head, a welcomed expansion that has the ES Best team fighting over who would review it (stay tuned).

Affixed to your wall-mounter shower, it is said to boost water pressure yet use less H2O - thus saving on water bills, while creating a spa-like experience.

The inclusion of calcium sulphite in the included filter offsets chlorine and other common water contaminants (by 90 per cent according to Hello Klean).

NuFace IonPlex Hydra-Gel Power Patches

One of the leaders in the beauty tech sphere, NuFace has earned its reputation for immediate results. Its contouring and lifting Trinity microcurrent facial toning device is a makeup bag essential for a quick-fix. But the global skincare device label is enhancing the prep ritual with the IonPlex Hydra-Gel Power Patches that you can use alone or in tandem with the tools.

The eye masks have been infused with the brand’s proprietary IonPlex serum that offers a cooling sensation when applied as it gets to work depuffing, brightening and hydrating the periorbital area. It is made up of glacial water and glycerin to plump and inject moisture to parched peepers.

Trinny London Take Back Time Eye Treatment

Dedicated care for the skin around the eyes is often overlooked and viewed as an overkill, but we’re here to tell you it’s extremely important. According to Trinny Woodall’s eponymous skincare label, the periorbital area “ages up to ten years faster than the rest of the face due to a more rapid slowdown in cellular renewal and repair processes”. This makes the peepers prone to fine lines and dark circles - giving the game away.

Say goodbye to crow’s feet with the Take Back Time Eye Treatment. A result of the brand’s devotion to skin health and longevity research, it is brimming with trademarked technology that is said to work at a molecular level to rejuvenate and revive the eyes. The miniprotein complex is placed alongside pro-derma hyaluronic acid, a form of the hydrating hero that was selected for its ability to penetrate deeper into the layers of the skin. There is also Hexapeptide-8 to calm inflammation and Ashwagandha to improve the result of sleepless nights.

In a user trial over eight weeks, the Take Back Time Eye Treatment was clinically proven to reduce crow’s feet and under-eye lines in a month and reduce eyebags and eyelid sagging in three.

Augustinus Bader The Rich Eye Cream

Augustinus Bader’s The Rich Cream has a cult following with celebrities (Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Aniston and more) attributing their youthful complexions to the proprietary TFC8 technology present across the whole collection. It may already be a staple in your skincare bag but now you can get the same sumptuous richness for your tired peepers.

Environmental stressors or lifestyle factors can put a strain on the periorbital area but the eponymous biomedical scientist behind Augustinus Bader has got the solve. Wild gentian root extract and a matrikine anti-wrinkle complex nourish and lift, while the aforementioned main ingredient combats signs of ageing.

BIRKENSTOCK Care Essentials

BIRKENSTOCK has spent the last few years not-so quietly dominating the summer footwear market. Its bestsellers are ubiquitous in the streets of the capital as the “ugly” shoe revolution shows no signs of wavering. Comfort has always been on the forefront of the BIRKENSTOCK mission, whether you’re wearing the Bostons or Arizonas. But it is taking this one step further with its expansion – a surprising move away from the shoe industry.

The BIRKENSTOCK Care Essentials comes as a result of its 250 years of orthopaedic expertise. It is made up of six footcare products to offer TLC to tired tootsies and includes creams, scrubs and balms to solve common concerns with entirely natural origin, certified vegan ingredients that are all about results.

Beautifully scented with the like of cedarwood, blood orange, and eucalyptus, the offering extends to The Relaxing Bath Salts to revitalise the skin, the tingling peppermint Exfoliating Foot Scrub, the murumuru butter-enriched Nourishing Foot Balm, the fatigue-fighting The Relief Lotion for Tired Leg & Foot, the jojoba-infused The Comforting Dry Oil and a pumice stone to round off the sextet.
