Let’s Make-Up: the new beauty launches to have on your radar in July 2024

In our monthly Let’s Make-Up round-up, we bring you a selection of the tried and tested, freshest, and buzziest beauty launches that are worth adding to your basket.

All types of lotions and potions across makeup, skincare, haircare and more cross our desks and we take it upon ourselves to review them all so you don’t have to. If we include it below, then you know it’s a good ‘un.

This July, Jo Malone has unveiled a limited-edition scent inspired by everyone’s favourite bear. The Paddington-themed fragrance is a suitably zesty summery scent dubbed the Orange Marmalade Cologne. But it’s not the only aroma specialist adding to its offering. You will also see that Bleu Nour is expanding into eau de parfum, bringing its unique synaesthesia-led rollerball collection to spritz form.

What’s more, our strands are in for a treat as not only has Rihanna ventured into the haircare space but Revlon demonstrates its prowess for affordable innovation with a new hair tool.

For all this and more, see our edit of the hottest beauty drops you need on your radar.

Jo Malone Orange Marmalade Cologne

For its new collection, Jo Malone has joined forces with an unlikely icon. Peru’s greatest export, Paddington, inspires the fragrance house’s new aroma. As you will therefore imagine, the limited-edition aroma takes its olfactory cues from the bear’s beloved snack, the marmalade sandwiches that he stashed under his signature red hat. The cologne blends notes of warm woods and orange zest that will inspire you to pack a picnic and head to the British countryside.

Revlon AirFlow Dryer

Revlon has earned tick notoriety for its cost-friendly but high-performance tools and the latest in the lineup is the brand’s AirFlow Dryer. The wash day essential was designed to minimise the amount of heat on your locks while still encouraging a speedy drying experience. The brand has thought of everything to make sure you have a good hair day from start to finish, from the lightweight, petite construction that won’t cause arm aches mid-drying to the built-in concentrator that rotates 90 degrees for ultimate control.

CeraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum

The bestselling vitamin C in the US, the launch of CeraVe’s Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum has been highly anticipated in the UK by worldly skincare lovers - and we can now confirm that it has arrived. What sets it apart from the crowd is its ultra-lightweight texture that will appeal to those who have previously found serums of this type greasy or oily.

The Skin Renewing Vitamin C has an instant brightening effect, thanks to the inclusion of the most potent form of the named ingredient L ascorbic acid in a heavy-hitting 10 per cent concentration. In the brand’s signature style, it is set alongside the hydrating and nourishing blend of ceramides and hyaluronic acid as well as skin barrier-strengthening vitamin B5.

Vida Glow Radiance+ Advanced Repair

You may or may not already be familiar with Vida Glow’s stellar supplement selection but there is a new formula on the block and it may just be the best one to date. Tackling pigmentation and discolouration from the inside out, the brand has created a capsule to be taken daily and this is easy thanks to its distinct lack of taste. Powering the Radiance+ Advanced Repair is Mela-tech, a trademarked active ingredient that was called upon to maximise absorption for speedier results. And the latter is immediately apparent in its brightening effects but you will also notice, with consistent consumption, fading of melasma, dark spots and dreaded pigmentation.

The INKEY List Hydrocolloid Invisible Pimple Patches

Pimple patches have taken on a new cachet and are now very much considered a striking statement that we all should be proud to display. The INKEY List has entered the chat and in the brand’s signature no-nonsense style, it has prioritised blemish-busting over aesthetics. In fact, the hydrocolloid stickers coat the breakout in a trio of supercharged ingredients; salicylic acid, succinic acid and ectoin. The latter of which offers hydrating and protective properties so as not to dry out the skin. The patches are created with the brand’s trademarked Invisiblur technology for an undetectable look and providing the ability to layer makeup on top.

Fenty Hair

Not content with leading the worlds of skincare and makeup, Rihanna is on her way to full beauty domination by venturing into haircare. The range has launched with nine products and in the mogul’s inclusive way, they are made for all hair types and textures. The hero ingredient that is embedded into each and every formula is Replenicore-5, a proprietary complex that is made up of amino acids, proteins and antioxidants to fortify the strands.

You will find a shampoo (The Rich One Moisture Repair Shampoo), two conditioners (The Rich One Moisture Repair Conditioner and The Richer One Moisture Repair Deep Conditioner) as well as styling products and treatments that include The Comeback Kid Instant Damage Repair Treatment, The Homecurl Curl-Defining Cream and The Controlling Type Hair-Thickening Edge Control Gel.

111SKIN Repair Sunscreen SPF50+

Eagerly awaited, 111SKIN has finally entered the SPF game. The plastic surgeon-led label incorporates its proprietary complex NAC Y2TM into each product in its collection and the Repair Sunscreen SPF50+ is no different. This ensures that while you are coating your skin in a layer of its UVA, UVB and HEV light protective properties, you are also treating your complexion to its anti-ageing, restorative magic. Dr Yannis Alexandrides has made a formula so gentle that it can be used by his patients after surgical procedures and yet it improves skin texture and signs of photoaging. Best of all, it’s a joy to apply.

Bleu Nour Eau de Parfum

Founded by Central St Martins-grad Nour Ibrahim who experiences the neurological condition synaesthesia, Bleu Nour is on a mission of ‘scent rehab’ to aid those experiencing anosmia (a loss of smell) after COVID-19.

The collection is made up of five scents including; Grounded (earthy and zesty), Neon Violette (tangy and seductive) and Cendre et Or (spicy and exotic). These come alongside a kit creating a link between the notes and colours to retrain scent memory.

While only offering rollerballs on launch, the brand has now expanded into eau de parfum to fill your scent wardrobe with a multi-dimensional, sensory-overlapping experience.
