Over the years, former NFL running back LeSean McCoy has earned the ire of Cincinnati Bengals fans for some of his takes, such as Joe Burrow comparisons or otherwise.
But Bengals fans will love McCoy’s latest take.
Appearing on FS1’s “Speak” recently, Shady batted away a question about whether 2024 is a “make or break” year for Burrow.
“Not for Joe Burrow. He’s that good. He’s that great. And he’s that young. He’s only 27 years old,” McCoy said. “When he’s at his best, he’s healthy, we know his ceiling…we don’t need to see it now. We know eventually that it’s going to show up.”
That “make or break” narrative around the Bengals has started to pop up some because it seems like the team will lose Tee Higgins next offseason and Burrow himself has had a hard time staying healthy.
But as McCoy points out, Burrow himself doesn’t have a year like that. And as Burrow himself will tell fans, the window is always open when he’s on the field.
So Shady is right and while 2024 is important for the Bengals, “make or break” accusations are likely very exaggerated.
