Legacy Motor Club reveals new crew chief for Erik Jones, other changes

Legacy Motor Club has made some personnel changes ahead of the 2026 NASCAR Cup season. They have named Justin Alexander as the new crew chief for Erik Jones and the No. 43 LMC Toyota Camry XSE, replacing Ben Beshore in the role.

Alexander has plenty of experience atop the pit box, winning five races with Austin Dillon at Richard Childress Racing, including the 2017 Coca Cola 600 and the 2018 Daytona 500.

Beshore will transition to the role of Director of Race Engineering, while Chief Financial Officer Scott Roggenbauer has been named the Chief Operating Officer for LMC.

“We’re continuing to evolve and refine every part of our race program, and Justin is a tremendous addition to our crew chief lineup,” said Jimmie Johnson, LMC owner. “His experience, communication style, and leadership align perfectly with the direction we’re headed. We appreciate Ben’s hard work and look forward to his continued contributions as he transitions into his new role.”

“Justin is a proven race winner, and we believe there’s the potential for a strong chemistry with Erik (Jones),” said Cal Wells III, Chief Executive Officer at LMC. “We’ll also have Ben raising all ships with the performance engineering group. With all these changes, we’re hoping to continue the growth we saw in 2025.”

Jones ended the 2025 season 24th in points with four top fives and five top tens, which was an improvement over the previous year where he was 28th with one top five and two top tens. However, Jones has been winless since his 2022 victory in the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.
