Leeds United told final-day hero may be tempted to leave club

Although it ended up being the case that Leeds United didn't need to beat Brentford on the final day of the season to retain their Premier League status, Jack Harrison's stoppage time winner against the Bees felt vital at the time. To all observers, it sealed Leeds' safety as it meant either Leeds would have to concede twice with seconds left on the clock, or Burnley would have to score twice against Newcastle, with similar time remaining at Turf Moor.

That goal may have locked in Harrison's place in Leeds folklore, but it could be the case that the winger moves on from Elland Road this summer. According to former Leeds goalkeeper, Paul Robinson, the 25-year-old will be 'tempted' by the interest in him, as it has emerged recently that both Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are both tracking the former Manchester City man.

"I think he will be tempted. Harrison’s had a good season," Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

"Newcastle are going in the right direction and Tottenham have Champions League football next year so both will be appealing to him. If he does get the option to go there, Leeds will have to do everything they can to try and hold onto him. From the player’s point of view, you can see why he would be tempted away."

Since the links emerged, Tottenham have agreed a deal for Ivan Perisic, who played as a left wing-back under Antonio Conte at Inter, which is said to be the position Spurs saw Harrison fitting into their team. As such, they may no longer be an option for Leeds' second top scorer.
