Leeds United supporters' patience tested as Whites fall to damaging Nottingham Forest defeat

Leeds United supporters' patience is running thin after Nottingham Forest condemned their side to a damaging 1-0 defeat the City Ground.

The Whites extended their winless run to seven games in the Premier League and are only separated by the relegation zone on goal difference.

Brennan Johnson scored the only goal of the game as his volley inside 14 minutes whistled low beyond Illan Meslier at his near post.

Although Leeds created a number of chances in the first half, a familiar pattern emerged as they failed to capitalise on their dominance in the final third.

Wilfried Gnonto was a menace down the left in the first half, but Steve Cooper brought on Serge Aurier and Jack Colback to successfully neutralise the threat posed by the Italian international.

Marsch presented Weston McKennie and Georginio Rutter with their Premier League debuts from the bench, but the Whites were ultimately unable to find an equaliser.

Leeds have picked up just two wins in their last 17 Premier League games.

Here is how Leeds fans have been reacting to their 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on social media...

@ctrlitt We have actually had a generous fixture list this season too. It’s absolutely tragic, we aren’t staying up playing like this. There has to be someone who can get more from these players.

@oreillyphilip Jesse needs to go now. Still enough time to save the season but the team needs a different voice in the dressing room. Just cannot get the best out of this team and is tactically naïve.

@CliftKurt Decent team performance but we need wins and a solid back line. Something needs to be done now not in a few weeks now. If the ownership doesn't understand this they don't have Leeds best interest at heart. And it's our hearts at risk swear my heart rate goes way beyond normal.

@McGeezer87 Nottingham Forest could have stood still for 90 minutes and we wouldn't have scored today.

@ccoulson82 Needs to change now or we're going down. Chaos football won't work. Steve Cooper changed things at half time to counter it and we couldn't do anything to break through. Nice guy is Jesse but he's taking us down.

@dave_leedsutd If we want to give ourselves a chance of staying up unfortunately he has to go.
