Another £5m has reportedly been put Red Bull Salzburg’s way in a £20m bid from Leeds United for Brenden Aaronson.
The Whites remain keen on securing the USA international before the January transfer window ends in 10 days’ time and hope this bigger bid will turn heads in Austria.
Multiple sources have reported on United’s fresh bid, which is not a huge surprise given the way the club reacted to the rejection of the first £15m offer.
Last night, Major League Soccer reported United representatives were in Austria to press forward with their proposal for Aaronson.
A variety of outlets have reported, since news of United’s first bid broke, Salzburg have no interest in selling Aaronson this month.
The Austrian giants are dominating their domestic top flight and have a mouth-watering round-of-16 clash in the Champions League to come with Bayern Munich.
LeedsLive understands Aaronson remains the top transfer target at Leeds with little interest, at this stage, in pursuing any other shortlisted names.
