Here are the latest Leeds United morning headlines on Monday, 28 March 2022.
Phillips boost
Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has continued to take part in full training this week and is ready to feature against Southampton this weekend. Confirmed by an official statement from the club, Phillips, Diego Llorente, Liam Cooper, Raphinha and Mateusz Klich are all together with the squad ahead of Saturday’s visit of the Saints.
Phillips returned to the bench in the 3-2 win over Wolves 10 days ago but was never likely to get any minutes, according to Jesse Marsch. But with another two weeks of training under his belt, Phillips could finally make his long-awaited comeback after almost four months out.
Bamford blow
Patrick Bamford's 2021/22 campaign has been blighted by injury and it doesn't appear as though there will be any let up between now and the end of the season. The Leeds United centre-forward suffered yet another setback in his bid to make a return to regular football on the eve of the international break earlier this month after sustaining 'full rupture' of the plantar fascia, according to Leeds United Head of Medicine and Performance Rob Price.

Leeds United confirmed in a statement on Sunday night that Bamford will miss a 'minimum' of six weeks with the foot injury. Price said: "As all of the stats show, Patrick has put his body on the line for Leeds United for a number of seasons, he has played with a plantar fascia injury for the last 12 months and despite treatment and a prolonged period of rehabilitation, the injury has progressed from a partial tear to a full rupture.”

Mingueza profile
Leeds United have been linked with a move for Barcelona defender Oscar Mingueza as a makeweight for Raphinha. The Brazilian's links to the Catalan outfit have intensified in recent days, with his agent Deco reportedly in advanced talks over personal terms with the club.
With Barcelona still under financial scrutiny, they may have to use other means as a way of bringing down the price of the deal. Centre back Mingueza is the first player to have been linked with moving the other way after falling down the pecking order under Xavi at the Camp Nou.
