Vieira rues lack of first-teamers for Leeds clash
Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira says not taking eight first-team players on their pre-season tours of Singapore and Australia is not ideal preparation for the Premier League season.
Leeds are set to face Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in a friendly on Friday, July 22 at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Wilfried Zaha, Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze are just a few of the first-teamers who will not be facing the Whites, as fitness issues and the failure to meet entry requirements for Singapore or Australia meant Vieira was unable to bring his full squad.

“Obviously as a manager, the best preparation would be to have all the players around,” said Vieira.
“But I want to be clear that we are very happy to be here and preparing to play against Liverpool tomorrow and this is part of the process that we needed to go through.”
Marsch's injury relief as Leeds beat Brisbane Roar
Goals from Dan James and Joe Gelhardt helped Leeds United to their first win of their tour of Australia, beating Brisbane Roar 2-1.
Jesse Marsch handed starts to new signings Marc Roca, Rasmus Kristensen and Brendan Aaronson, while Darko Gyabi, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra featured from the bench.
There were some absentees, but Marsch confirmed that goalkeeper Ilan Meslier was just rested on the night, while Liam Cooper and Leo Hjelde are nursing minor injuries. There were no fresh injuries reported at the Cbus Super Stadium.
Bamford wants Whites to develop winning mentality
Leeds striker Patrick Bamford played 30 minutes in the Whites' victory over Brisbane Roar.
Bamford missed much of the last campaign through injury, but he is now back to help the Whites, with the striker also determined to get himself into England's World Cup squad in November.
"You have to get your fitness up, but as a team, you have to get that winning mentality," Bamford told LUTV after the win.
"Obviously for me, I try and score goals, but it's about getting that winning mentality and confidence early on."
