Leeds United-linked Regis Le Bris addresses Lorient future after mid-table finish

Lorient boss Regis Le Bris says he'll have talks with the Ligue 1 club regarding his future after guiding Les Merlus to a mid-table finish. The 47-year-old has been linked with a move to Leeds United after Sam Allardyce's Elland Road departure.

The Whites are gearing up for a return to the Championship next season, having picked up just one point from Allardyce's four games in charge. The damage may have already been done prior to his arrival, but with uncertainty off the pitch regarding the ownership at Leeds United, the Whites have a big rebuild on their hands this summer.

Le Bris emerged as one of the potential contenders to replace Allardyce last week, with Luton Town's Rob Edwards also reportedly under consideration.

The current Lorient boss ensured a tenth-placed finish with a 2-1 win over Strasbourg on the final day of the Ligue 1 season, a stark improvement from narrowly avoiding relegation the year prior to his arrival.

“There are discussions at the moment," Le Bris told Le Telegramme. "I want to take advantage of the moment, everything we have been through.

"Close the season in the best way. Then we’ll think about the future in the next few days. We’ll see what happens.”
