Leeds mum feared schoolboy struggling in reservoir as kids watched was going to drown

A Leeds mum was left traumatised after seeing school kids daring a friend to jump in Ardsley Reservoir before he "almost drowned".

Shirley Bottomley, of Morley, had just finished work for the evening on Monday (March 29) before she went for a walk with her husband and their dog around 7pm. But the spot of exercise left her "sick and shaken" after witnessing a boy "almost drown".

Shirley said she could hear shouting by Ardsley Reservoir. She glanced over by the water and claims she saw a group of 20 teenagers in school uniform gathered on the grass banking.
