A cop killer who is already serving a life sentence has been found guilty of wounding a female prison officer during a "frenzied" attack with a "deadly" home-made weapon.
Ex US Marine and bodybuilder David Bieber used a pointed metal bar when he launched himself at Alison Smith and repeatedly stabbed her, leaving her bleeding from wounds to her face and right arm.
Bieber was working as a cleaner at the time of the alleged incident on August 10, 2017 at HMP Long Lartin, near Evesham, Worcestershire. He was locked up in 2004 for shooting Pc Ian Broadhurst at point blank range on Boxing Day in 2003 and attempted murder of two of his colleagues.
