The ongoing issues at Leeds Bradford Airport throughout May have continued into the new month with further 'chaos' reported today.
Passengers waiting to check-in for their flights on Wednesday morning were spotted waiting outside in a sea of people and luggage in snaking long queues again. It comes after holidaymakers reported they were in queues stretching around the car park last weekend.
Passengers heading to the airport for early morning flights have been experiencing delays getting through security for a number of weeks. On Saturday, passengers described the 'utter chaos' that greeted them at the airport with videos of "hundreds" of suitcases left "abandoned" in the baggage halls shared by disgruntled jet-setters.

Around 7am this morning, passengers were seen packed in long queues stretching from the drop off point outside the airport all the way through to security. A number of individuals took to Twitter to share their experiences this morning while they wait to get through the airport.
@ItzdaNinja said: "First flights of the day not for another two hours and security queue is already out the door #shambles. On top of two hrs to check-in. They need to open those desks earlier."
While @NIAMHBL added: "Every airport is chaotic. I'm in @LBIAirport at the minute and it’s crazy. My flight is delayed now. Thought would be a breeze! So understaffed it’s ridiculous."
@ChloeBoulous added: "It’s absolute chaos at Leeds Bradford Airport, glad we got here when we did at 3:50am for our flight at 7.25am as the queue currently runs all the way round the OUTSIDE of the airport."
@Adegohow shared a photograph of the back of a sea of people's heads. He was seen close to other individuals as he waited to get in the airport around 6.51am this morning.
He said: "@LBIAirport this is just great… queue for security this morning at 6.51." And a number of individuals have also reported problems with being able to park at the airport too.
One man calling on the government said: "Why have you made no statement about the current crisis in airports across the UK? Is this not your remit?
"@LBIAirport don’t have a single car parking space available this weekend and offer no public transport access."
Last month LBA chief executive Vincent Hodder asking people to come to Leeds Bradford "no earlier than three hours" before their scheduled departure time. Mr Hodder has said that people arriving early for their flights is leading to a "blow-out of queues".
The airport has repeatedly said that the root cause of the issues at the airport is a shortage of staff and that "these current challenges are an industry wide problem, caused by the speed of withdrawal of travel restrictions and testing which has led to the rapid recovery of international travel".
