A Latino voting rights group has called for a federal investigation after volunteers reported that Texas authorities conducted raids on their homes in the San Antonio area. The raids were part of an investigation by Texas Attorney General into allegations of voter fraud during the 2022 election. No charges have been filed against any individuals targeted in the searches.

The Attorney General's office confirmed that the searches were conducted following allegations of election fraud and vote harvesting. The raids have sparked outrage among volunteers, with some claiming that their personal belongings, including phones and computers, were seized during the searches.

The League of United Latin American Citizens expressed concerns over voter suppression, stating that they are determined to uncover the truth behind the raids. The investigation is being carried out by the Election Integrity Unit formed by the Attorney General's office.

Several volunteers, including a political consultant and a Democratic state House candidate, had their homes searched by authorities. An 80-year-old volunteer recounted a lengthy search of her home and expressed confusion over the reasons behind the raid.

Despite the searches, the volunteers maintain their innocence and assert that they have not engaged in any illegal activities. Voter fraud is a rare occurrence and is typically detected in isolated instances. An investigation into the 2020 presidential election found minimal cases of potential voter fraud out of millions of ballots cast.

The federal Justice Department declined to comment on the matter. The Latino voting rights group is determined to seek justice and ensure that their voices are heard in the ongoing investigation.
