Liz Truss looks nailed on to beat Rishi Sunak in the vote to choose Boris Johnson’s replacement as Conservative Party leader and Britain’s next prime minister, according to Britain’s bookmakers.
The 170,000-strong party membership has until 5pm on Friday 2 September to submit their ballots, which will then be counted over the weekend before the winner is announced by Sir Graham Brady, chairman of the backbench 1922 Committee at 12.30pm on Monday 5 September.
