Kris Jenner's kitchen has been well-documented from her many years on reality TV as a star of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and later, The Kardashians. However, there are always updates and new corners of discovery in the infamous Momager's culinary space, as evidenced by her most recent Instagram post.
In the footage, we can see her two-tone kitchen (black backsplash and white cabinets) broken up by doses of the natural world. A green wreath hangs above the stove, while a wood-cutting block adds an infusion of the great outdoors to the sleek countertops.
Whether opting for a biophilic design or a modern rustic space, adding nature-inspired decor to a kitchen is a great way to make the room feel warm and inviting. Just as being outside can improve our mental health, bringing elements of the outdoors inside can provide the same impact in any space.
'One of the primary benefits of nature-inspired decor is its ability to evoke a calming atmosphere,' says designer Nina Lichtenstein. 'Natural materials and colors can reduce stress and enhance relaxation, making your home a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Additionally, incorporating nature into your home decor can improve air quality and create a more harmonious living environment, contributing to overall health and happiness.'
Lichtenstein says that wood and greens are two staples when it comes to bringing nature-inspired decor into the home – and the possibilities are endless.
'Items crafted from reclaimed or sustainably sourced wood bring warmth and a rustic charm to your home,' she says. 'Each piece's unique grain and texture add character and bring the outdoors inside.'
She continues, 'Indoor plants not only purify the air but also add vibrant color and life to any room. From large statement plants like fiddle leaf figs to small succulents, greenery can fit into any space.'
While the wreath is a nice year-round touch, we can also see a small house plant looking fantastic as a countertop accessory.
Personalization is also key to successfully incorporating nature-inspired decor into a room.
'Incorporate items directly from nature to add a personal, organic touch to your decor,' Lichtenstein suggests. 'Display a collection of shells from your favorite beach, or create a centerpiece with pinecones and branches collected during a family hike. Framing nature drawings by the family, pictures of your garden, local landscapes, or even close-up shots of leaves and flowers can bring the beauty of the outdoors into your home, creating a gallery of nature that holds personal significance.'
