Kris Boyd tells Rangers SFA complaint is waste of time as concerned pundit wonders where game is going

Kris Boyd has told Rangers to not waste their time with complaining to the Scottish FA over Alfredo Morelos' disallowed derby goal.

One of the big talking points from Celtic's 3-2 win over their rivals is the decision to cut off the Colombian's strike for a foul on Alistair Johnston. The game was still at 0-0 as Morelos glanced home but VAR official Nick Walsh backed up referee Kevin Clancy's verdict that it was a foul as the striker appeared to give the full-back a nudge.

While not thinking it is a foul, Boyd has reacted to news of Rangers asking questions of the SFA by telling them not to bother. He said on Sky Sports: "I don't know what for, what are they going to write back? Seriously, why waste your time, it is done and finished, move on to the next game. Listen, we have all had our say.

"You can understand but you worry where the game is going if that is a free-kick. It's good play by Alistair Johnston I must say, he knows he's caught underneath the ball, both are having a little tug of their shirts, and he decides to throw himself forward.

"Clancy has bought it but for me, and it would be the same at the other end, if we are chopping goals off for that, I wonder where football is going. It is good and clever a play by Johnston as the referee needs to make a decision. It's went against Rangers on this one but when you give the referee the opportunity to make a decision, it can go either way."
