Kieran Trippier insists Newcastle United are only on the 'start of our journey' after their 2-0 defeat against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final.
The Magpies reached their first domestic cup final since 1999, but were condemned to defeat courtesy of Casemiro's 33rd minute header and Sven Botman's own goal six minutes later.
But Newcastle have undergone a remarkable transformation since Eddie Howe took charge in November 2021, and Trippier says the Magpies must learn from their experience at Wembley Stadium.
"It's disappointing of course, we were coming into this game with high hopes and a good mentality to win the game," Trippier said.

"I thought we started the game unbelievably. Especially the first - well before they scored to be honest but you know, they have players who have been in these moments every year, and for us it's about learning from these moments.
"It's the start of our journey. We've got to dust ourselves down now because we've got another huge game on Saturday [away at Manchester City]."
