Khon Kaen police take up temple land dispute

Pongsuwat Chaitonchueak, representing the Khon Kaen office of the Department of Lands, files a police complaint against Buakhai Sornsamut, the administrator of the estate of the late Hiang Phimsri, who donated land for a forest temple in the province, for giving false statements about a title deed in dispute with the temple. KHON KAEN - Police in this northeastern province are investigating a complaint against an estate administrator accused of giving false statements about a land title deed at the centre of a bitter dispute over the future of a forest temple.

The abbot of Wat Pa Adulyaram recently produced what he says is the original title deed for the land on which the temple was built, which was donated by Khon Kaen resident Hiang Phimsri, who died in 1991.
