Gardai are working with the Italian authorities after the victim of Monday evening's crash in Kerry was confirmed to be a visiting tourist.
The 37-year-old male, who has not been named, was travelling with two other motorcyclists near Strands End, Cahersiveen when there was a collision between a car and a motorbike shortly before 5pm.
The tourist was pronounced dead shortly after that point.

The female car driver, (early 50s) and sole occupant of the car was uninjured and did not require medical attention.
Gardai closed the N70 so as to complete forensics work and are reminding all road users to take care and exercise caution when travelling around the county.
Superintendent Flor Murphy of Killarney said: "We have appointed a family liaison officer, that has been working specifically with the family, via an interpreter. We've also been in contact with the embassy to make sure that all the appropriate assistance is provided to the friends and family of the deceased - and also his travelling companions.
"This is a dreadful situation to be in, the Gardai are providing every assistance to all concerned," he told Radio Kerry.

The situation is the second incidence in the last three months where a visiting tourist on a motorcycle has died on an Irish road.
Paul Ingram, a widower from Moulton in Northampton and Brian McFarlane with an address in the Oxford village of Sutton Courtenay, were killed in a freak accident as they rode along the M50 on the outskirts of Dublin in June.
Both men were on Harley Davison motorbikes when they accidentally collided with each other – and fell on to the carriageway. Then, as they lay helpless on the road, a truck that was travelling behind the pair had no chance to avoid the friends and slammed into them.
