When Adele tearfully and apologetically postponed a series of shows in Las Vegas, the venue was left with a Grammy-winning sized hole.
Australian country music star — and fellow Grammy-award winner — Keith Urban has come to the rescue somewhat, adding five shows to his residency at Caesars Palace Hotel, on dates that Adele was originally slated to perform.
"We've got five, brand-new shows being added to our Las Vegas residency," Urban said in an Instagram video.
Urban, of course, could not get there in time to take on all of Adele's shows.
The British superstar had been scheduled to start a three-month residence from January to April at Caesars Palace, in what were to be her first live appearances since 2017.
She had announced she would have to reschedule a day before her residency was meant to start because half her crew was sick with COVID-19, and the pandemic had caused "delivery delays".
Reports emerged in British tabloid The Sun that the postponement was also due to disquiet within Adele's team and her dissatisfaction with the staging of the concerts.
Adele has assured fans she will reschedule her shows.
Urban, who is also a coach on The Voice Australia, will now perform an additional three dates from March 25, and two dates in April.
