Keith Long has hailed the arrival of Alan Reynolds to his Waterford coaching ticket.
Reynolds signed up on Monday as assistant manager to Long, who opened his reign at the RSC last Friday with a 7-1 annihilation of Finn Harps.
Welcoming the three-time Blues manager back to the club, Long said: “I’m delighted Alan has joined the club.

“He’s a coach with fantastic experience from playing and management and will be a big asset to the club.
“He’s a local guy and it’s brilliant that we can bring him back to his local club to help us achieve our goals this season.”
Reynolds spent the last 16 months as assistant to Ruaidhri Higgins at Derry City. He also serves as assistant boss to Jim Crawford in the Ireland Under-21 set-up.
A former Waterford player, who made over 300 appearances for the club, he made the move back to his hometown club due to personal commitments.
Derry, meanwhile, confirmed his departure from the Ryan McBride Brandywell in a statement.
Higgins said: “I want to thank Alan on behalf of myself, the staff and the players. He’s made a fantastic contribution in his time at the club.
“On a personal note he’s helped me to develop as a manager with his experience, and we enjoyed some special memories as a group together last year.
“I know he has left here with a real heavy heart and it has been an emotional couple of days.
“We all know how football works however, and sometimes people have personal circumstances that are outside of their control.
“There are just times that family life has to come first.
“It goes without saying that Alan will always be welcome at the Ryan McBride Brandywell any time he wants, and we wish him every success going forward.”
Higgins is now on the lookout for a new number two, while Candy Stripes fans paid tribute to Reynolds last Friday night after their 1-0 win against Shelbourne.
