Katie Price has offered a new update on her son Harvey’s health, explaining that he is expected to begin a new weight loss medication after completing several trials. The TV personality, 47, said her 23-year-old son, who currently weighs 28 stone, is still working to “lose weight through his diet” but will soon transition to a medical option to help speed up his progress.
Harvey previously weighed 30 stone in April, and recent dietary changes have helped him shed around 1.5 stone. He faces multiple health challenges. He is blind, autistic, has septo optic dysplasia, a learning disability, and has Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that causes chronic hunger and often leads to obesity. Price has long expressed concern that without additional intervention, her son’s health could decline further.

Speaking on her podcast, Price said, “He’s not started fat jabs. There are talks of fat jabs, of Mounjaro, for him.” She noted that doctors have been cautious and wanted Harvey to first focus on weight loss through food management. Price added that during a recent visit, specialists discussed a new weight loss drug that is close to rollout.

“They have clinically tested it on people, and they have got a few people they are putting it on first,” she said. “And if it works, then Harvey can go on it in the new year.” According to Price, doctors still want Harvey to begin Mounjaro, a medication already being used widely for diabetes and weight management.
“Because if he goes on Mounjaro first and then goes onto this new one, it will work a lot quicker,” she explained. She said the delay in starting the treatment was intentional. “The reason he hasn’t started Mounjaro yet is that they were trying to get him to lose weight through his diet, to try all avenues,” Price said.

The update follows a difficult period earlier this year when Price admitted she was “heartbroken” over Harvey’s weight reaching nearly 30 stone. At the time, she said he struggled to walk and faced serious risks to his life. With his complex medical needs and the persistent challenges of Prader-Willi syndrome, his weight has long been a major health concern.

Price has often spoken publicly about her efforts to support Harvey through lifestyle changes, medical guidance, and supervised routines. She continues to advocate for improved care options for people with complex disabilities. With doctors now preparing to introduce medication into his treatment plan, Price says she is hopeful the new year will bring meaningful improvements for her son’s health.
