Katie Price is set to be sentenced in court today (June 24) after admitting to breaching a restraining order.
The former glamour model has been in the limelight since appearing on The Sun’s Page 3 as Jordan in the 90s.
The 44-year-old has featured on an array of reality TV shows since, having featured as a contestant on ITV's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and been the subject of a series of fly-on-the-wall series looking at her previous relationship with pop star Peter Andre and her career after their split.
But now, the mum-of-five is making headlines for a different reason as she prepares to face a crown court judge - and she's been warned she could well be jailed, writes The Mirror.
Why is Katie Price in court?
Katie will appear in court this morning for sentencing after pleading guilty to breaching a restraining order against ex-husband Kieran Hayler's fiancee Michelle Penticost.
She previously pleaded not guilty to a single charge of breaching a restraining order on April 27 and requested a crown court trial.
However, she changed her plea to guilty while entering a formal plea in May.
Could Katie Price go to jail?
Following her formal plea, Katie was warned by Judge Stephen Mooney at Lewes Crown Court that she was "at risk of going to prison".
The guidelines for such an offence indicate that two years behind bars is the starting point for any punishment involving jail.
However, having pleaded guilty, she is likely to be able to expect a reduced sentence - although not as much as if she had admitted the charge at the first opportunity.
Katie also has a suspended sentence of 16 weeks from December 2021 hanging over her after admitting to crashing her car on September 28 2021, despite the troubled star still being banned from driving at the time.
The suspended sentence - which remained on file in the event she fell foul of the law again - could either run concurrently or on top of today's main sentence.
How Katie admitted breached restraining order
The celeb was slapped with a five-year restraining order that forbids her from contacting her ex-husband's partner, directly or indirectly, after she admitted using abusive language in 2019 towards Michelle, 39, at the school gates.
Katie was married to Kieran from 2013 until 2021 and shares two children with the former stripper, Jett and Bunny, who go to the same school as Michelle's elder son Valentino.
Kieran has since become engaged to mum Michelle, who he met while doing the school run. The couple went on to welcome their first child together, son Apollo, in August 2021.
In January this year, Katie messaged Kieran, 34, accusing him and Michelle of conducting an “affair.. behind my back” while they were still an item.
She labelled Michelle a "c***ing whore piece of s***" and a "gutter slag" in the messages.
Does Katie believe she could go to jail?
The Brighton-born Celebrity Big Brother winner is reported to have “begged” her half-sister Sophie to move her wedding forward in case she is jailed today - a request the 22-year-old sibling happily agreed to.
Katie was a bridesmaid at the tying of the knot on Wednesday and wore a blue silk gown as she was joined by children Harvey, Junior, Princess and Bunny.
The Sun quoted a source as saying the family was “desperate to share this special moment all together” because it is “quite possible Katie is going to end up in prison on Friday".
However, last week she took to Instagram to ask fans how to get hold of bikinis for an upcoming holiday, saying she "desperately" needed them for her departure 10 days from then.
It appears she's booked herself into a makeup masterclass - for which she's been flogging tickets - in Ibiza and told her fans: "I'll be in Ibiza on 15th July.
"If you ladies are on your holidays, hen dos, make sure you get tickets to my ultimate summer makeup masterclasses."
