Katie Price has broken her silence with an Instagram post after her ex Carl Wood shared an explosive recording of her apparently arguing with him about 'coke'.
Katie and Carl's break up turned sour when today, Carl uploaded a voice note to his Instagram 233,000 followers, where a person who appears to be the former glamour model admits to not turning up to events before she says 'I was on coke' and has been hiding it from her terminally ill mother, writes The Mirror.
The mum-of-five has now appeared to hit back at Carl's post about her turbulent personal life, telling her fans that strong women are "forged through the challenges of life."
On her Instagram story, Katie uploaded a black and white picture of a woman wearing a helmet and chainmail, with the words written over the top: "Strong women aren't simply born. We are forged through the challenges of life. With each challenge we grow mentally and emotionally. We move forward with our head held high and a strength that cannot be denied."
Finishing with the message: "A woman who's been through the storm and survived."
The recording, which has now been removed from social media, was dated from September this year, and Carl accused Katie's mum, Amy Price, of treating him unfairly and urged Katie to tell her to 'leave me alone'.
He says in the audio recording: "Leave me alone and stop laying into me because I'm actually not a d**khead. I take the bullet for you, do you understand what I'm saying?"
Katie then appears to reply: "Imagine if I sat down and went ...[incomprehensible] all this and said yeah I've been doing coke."
Carl then replies to her: "Well yeah, maybe she might apologise to me instead of blaming everything on me."
Katie then seems to say: "Maybe one day I will and then I'll say I've actually sorted it out mum. That's the reason why I haven't turned up to this and that because I was on coke. It's nothing to do with Carl. Carl's helped me get off it."
Carl went on to claim that Katie's ill mother "automatically assumes" he is behind Katie's behaviour, when it isn't the case.
Katie appears to reply: "To be honest, I will tell her the truth before she dies. I won't ever rest in peace if I haven't told her."
Katie's reps have been contacted for comment over the voice note.
In November last year, it was reported that Katie had completed rehab treatment after checking into The Priory, following a drink drive crash a few months prior.
Roadside tests revealed she had cocaine in her system and that she was almost twice the legal limit of alcohol.
Katie pleaded guilty after being charged with driving while unfit to drive through drink, using a motor vehicle on a public place without third party insurance and driving while disqualified.
Carl's Instagram upload appeared to be in response to Katie, who declared she was officially single as she addressed their split for the first time on a night out. Katie had taken to Instagram as she partied the night away.
Applying lip-gloss to the camera, she said: "Hi everyone, so yeah I'm single", before pointing to her lip-gloss and saying: "But guess who I'm out with tonight? Katie Price. I'm having a conversation with them lips."
Even before the voice note was shared, Carl and Katie's split was turning messy.
Last week Carl uploaded a video to Instagram announcing their two-year relationship had come to an end, before going on to claim the reason behind it was because Katie had cheated on him.
