Kate Garraway has said her husband Derek Draper is back in hospital following his Covid battle.
The Good Morning Britain host, 55, gave an update on his health while attending the Tric Awards in London on Wednesday.
“He’s OK, he’s back in hospital actually, so that’s a development. There we are,” she told The Sun.
Ms Garraway did not disclose why Mr Draper is in hospital.
The popular TV personality also praised their children Darcey, 16, and Billy, 12, for their support.
She added: “They’ve been amazing - all the way through.”
Draper contracted Covid in March 2020 and he is believed to be Britain’s longest-suffering Covid patient after spending 13 months in hospital.
He was finally allowed home in April 2021.
His recovery, which requires around-the-clock care and daily medication, has been documented in two ITV films, Finding Derek and its follow-up, Caring For Derek.
The latest news comes after the broadcaster recently launched an appeal on social media when her husband’s medicine kit was accidentally left in a taxi on Friday.
Thanks to a fan, Draper’s vital medicines were returned to the couple after a follower who knew the cab driver contacted her following her public plea.
She also recently documented how their lives have changed since he was struck down by the deadly virus.
In an interview with Good Housekeeping magazine, she said: “When you nearly lose someone, it certainly brings everything into sharp focus.
“In many ways, we’re still learning how we are as man and wife, as so much has changed.
“It’s the same for the children – they’re having to relearn the experience of being with their dad. And, of course, the biggest learning is for poor Derek.”
