Kasper Schmeichel has made no secret what his incentive is when joining Celtic.
The Danish internationalist, who famously won the English Premier League with Leicester City in 2016, became Brendan Rodgers' second summer signing over the weekend and is targeting adding more silverware to his CV during his time at the Scottish giants.
“Trophies!” he declared after being asked what his main objective is at his new club. “It’s what football is about.
“Football is about winning and coming to a club with such a rich history of winning, a culture of draws aren’t enough, the only thing that matters is winning.
“That’s one thing I really love about this club is that’s the mentality – you have to go out and win every competition that you’re in, so I can’t wait to get back playing football again.”

Schmeichel has been brought in to replace Joe Hart as Celtic's No.1 goalkeeper along side Viljami Sinisalo.
The 37-year-old confessed he's actually been in regular discussion with Hart before putting pen to paper on a deal, and he knows he's got to live up to the high standards set by his predecessor.
"I feel great," the experienced shot-stopper told Celtic TV. "It’s been a long journey but it feels good to be here. I’m really happy.
“I spoke to Joe Hart many times during the time he was here and leading up to his retirement and he only had good things to say.
“Obviously I started following Celtic as a club when he joined and saw the admiration the fans had for him and he got an incredible send-off and fully deserved, so they’re big shoes to fill.”

In addition to witnessing his new teammates in action for the first time, Schmeichel also had the opportunity to meet some of the numerous Celtic fans who gathered at Audi Field to support the Hoops during their 4-0 friendly win over DC United on Saturday night.
This experience highlighted the immense following of the current Scottish Premiership champions.
“I played in Scotland many years ago and I know the size of Celtic,” he acknowledged. “But I’ve come off holiday and there were Celtic fans at the hotel that I was staying at.
"And even when I flew there were Celtic fans on the plane on the way to watch this game so it’s incredible to see, but it just goes to show the size of the club."
