Kamala Harris thinks Donald Trump is ‘unwell’, just like the rest of America

On December 18, 2025, Kamala Harris, the former Vice President of the United States, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live as a guest to discuss her new book, 107 Days, and various political topics. During the episode, Harris made several revelations about Donald Trump and his Republican allies, which have become popular talking points, especially on social media.

Harris spoke with Kimmel about getting through the next few years under the Trump administration. In a specific moment from her chat with host Jimmy Kimmel, which is currently going viral on social media, Harris can be seen discussing her infamous presidential debate with Donald Trump, held back in September 2024, ahead of the presidential elections.

While discussing the event, after being prompted by Kimmel, Harris focused on Trump’s bold claims about people in Springfield eating their pets, including dogs and cats. She revealed that this idea was planted in Trump’s mind by Laura Loomer while he was en route to the debate, and that she and her teammates were aware that he could bring up the topic because he has a tendency to repeat whatever he hears last.

Harris recalled feeling “taken aback but not shocked” when Trump actually made the claim that people were eating their pets during the debate. Following this, Kimmel jokingly asked Harris if she believed that people are “still” eating their cats and dogs, noting that he has seen fewer of them since Trump became president. In response, Kamala chose to take a more serious tone and stated:

“We’re talking about lies, and we’re talking about them being targeted these lies at, in particular, very vulnerable communities or individuals. We are talking about the power. You know what the power of the presidency is when a president of the United States speaks a word. Talk about it sounds like a shout even if it is a whisper because of whoit is coming from and what it means andthe impact it has not only in the target of those words but the rest of thepopulation and the world.”

After Harris finished her comments about Trump, Kimmel made a joke regarding Trump’s statement about cats and dogs, suggesting there are two possibilities in this scenario.

One, that he is lying and “putting it out there” to attract those who believe these lies, or two, that he truly thinks what he is saying is occurring. Kimmel tried to continue by saying “both” but was cut off by Harris, who remarked that he is “just unwell,” which led to loud cheers and applause from the audience.
