JUST 1% of the UK public thought Liz Truss did a good job as Prime Minister, according to a new YouGov poll.
The survey found a whopping 64% of respondents thought she had done a “terrible” job, with just 1% rating her performance as “good” and 1% saying she had been a “great” Prime Minister.
The snap poll, carried out among 2066 people on Thursday, found 7% of Britons rated her “average” and 18% said she had been “poor”.
Some 10% of respondents said they did not know.
Truss announced her resignation on Thursday afternoon after a punishing week in which she lost control of her party and suffered the loss of a senior adviser and her home secretary.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said Truss would be resigned to a “footnote” in history.
She is entitled to a pension of £115,000 per year for the rest of her life as a former prime minister, even though she only held the office for 44 days.
Tory rivals are now lining up to replace her and nominations among MPs are now open, closing at 2pm on Monday.
Then, Conservative Party members will be able to vote until Friday, October 28 at which point a new prime minister will be appointed.
