Judge mulls decision on releasing Andrew Tate on bail

  • Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate will remain in custody in the US after a Miami federal judge deferred a ruling on their bail request.
  • The pair were arrested in Miami on 18 July following a British extradition request over charges of rape, assault, and facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.
  • The UK's Crown Prosecution Service recently announced 38 new charges against the brothers relating to alleged offences committed between 2010 and 2017.
  • US prosecutors urged the judge to deny bail, arguing the Tates pose a flight risk and a danger to the community due to alleged violence and witness tampering.
  • Defence lawyers argued that the brothers' public visibility prevents their flight and requested their release on bond with location monitoring while extradition proceedings continue.
