Fuming Josh Taylor branded Jack Catterall "a clown" as the champions went on the offensive over injury digs.
The undisputed light-welterweight champion became only the fifth boxer ever to simultaneously hold all four belts after defeating Jose Ramirez in Las Vegas last year.
He had been set for a homecoming fight against Catterall on December 2021 at the Hydro, but the fight was pushed due to a training knock.
A knee ligament injury has disrupted preparation for the clash - but the Tartan Tornado rubbished any claims that he was dodging El Gato.
In a heated face-off on Sky Sports, Taylor held nothing back before their Glasgow bout stating : "You haven't boxed anywhere near the level I've boxed at. You've probably not fought, or sparred with, anyone at world level at the minute.
"You're not ready and you don't really believe you can win this fight."
Catterall sniped back with: "You are the one who postponed the fight."
The Scots boxing legend immediately clapped back: "I had injuries mate, I'm not going to go into a fight with an injury."
Catterall shrugging: (Sighs) "Injuries..."
Taylor continued: "Do you want to fight an injured Josh Taylor and have me with an excuse saying 'he fought an injured Josh Taylor'?"
Catterall chimed in: "Have you got an injury?"
Taylor went on: "This time I'm fully fit and you've got no chance, so why are you trying to make an excuse?"
Catterall, on the back foot, said: "I'm just saying you postponed the fight..."
Taylor shouted back: "Because I was injured, you clown."
A sheepish Catterall added: "Alright, alright."
